Inspections/Regulations

  • CSACMAPFEC – NJAC 5:70-2.3 Before any one- and two-family or attached single family structure is sold, leased, or otherwise made subject to a change of occupancy for residential purposes, the owner shall obtain a certificate of smoke alarm, carbon monoxide alarm, and portable fire extinguisher compliance CSACMAPFEC, evidencing compliance with N.J.A.C. 5:70-4.19, from Hardyston Fire Prevention Bureau for Hardyston Township and Hamburg Borough CLICK HERE to review regulations.   • Fire Safety Permit – N.J.A.C. 5:70-2.7(a). Permits shall be required, and obtained from Hardyston Fire Prevention Bureau for the activities specified in this section, except where they are an integral part of a process or activity by reason of which a use is required to be registered and regulated as a Life Hazard Use. Permits shall at all times be kept in the premises designated therein and shall at all times be subject to inspection by the Fire Marshal or authorized representative.   • Fire Safety Registration – Every business or structure of non-residential use shall be registered with the Hardyston Township Fire Prevention Bureau. The owner of the premises and/or operator shall submit a completed registration form and pay the appropriate fee prior to commencing operation. The premises shall thereafter be registered annually during the month of January. All registrations are subject to “pop up” fire safety inspections on an annual basis.   • Open Burning Permit (NJ Forest Fire Service) – The “General Forest Fire Act” (N.J.S.A. 13:9 et. Al.) requires that before having any fire within a forested area, you must contact the nearest Forest Fire Service office to request a permit.
